TriedBot
How Tried reads restaurant websites.
Tried collects what restaurants publish about themselves (menus, dietary statements and booking options) so AI agents can answer questions about them with sources and dates.
What it does
- Fetches only public pages: a restaurant's homepage, its menus (including PDF and image menus) and its reservation page.
- Honors
robots.txt. Our own fetcher identifies itself asTriedBot/0.1 (+https://tried.reviews/bot). Some pages are fetched through Cloudflare Browser Run, which identifies itself as a bot and also honorsrobots.txt. - Limits its request rate for each site, and re-checks a site about once a month.
- Never submits forms, creates accounts, or makes or holds reservations.
- Keeps private copies of fetched pages to record where each fact came from. Published data is structured facts with a link back to the restaurant's own page; dish descriptions are not republished.
